Italy have played at Wembley on five occasions, winning and drawing twice, while also losing once. The most memorable result was the win on 14th November 1973 when a Fabio Capello goal gave the Azzurri a historic first win at the home of English football.
Italy have played 12 times in London in total, recording two wins, four draws and six defeats. In the English capital, the Azzurri have faced England seven times, played four friendlies against Brazil, the Ivory Coast, Nigeria and the Republic of Ireland and lost to Denmark during the 1948 Olympic Games. These games were played at Wembley (five times), at Highbury (1934 and 1948), at White Hart Lane (1949), at Upton Park/Boleyn Ground (2010), at the new Emirates Stadium (2009) and at Craven Cottage (2013 and 2014).
The last Azzurri win dates back to February 12th 1997, when Gianfranco Zola decided a qualifier for the 1998 World Cup.
