Italy remain twelfth in FIFA Ranking as Germany go back top

Italy are still twelfth in the FIFA Ranking as Germany take top spot following their win at the Confederations Cup. Brazil and Argentina both fell a position down to second and third respectively. Portugal moved up four places into fourth while Switzerland and Poland also climbed up by four places to fifth and sixth. 

Chile (seventh), Colombia (eighth), France (ninth) and Belgium (tenth) make up the rest of the top ten. Ahead of Italy in eleventh are Spain who the Azzurri will face on 2nd September in Madrid in a key qualifying fixture for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. The next FIFA Ranking will be published on 10th August.
