After qualifying for France 2019 finished with an away defeat to Belgium, the National Women’s Team will now continue their World Cup preparations with friendlies against Sweden and Germany – two teams who have also qualified by winning their respective groups.
The Azzurre will host Sweden on Tuesday 9 October (18:15 CEST) at the Stadio Giovanni Zini in Cremona, while they’ll then face Germany at the Stadio Bremer Brücke in Osnabrück on Saturday 10 November (16:00 CEST). Italy do not have a positive record against Germany (five wins, eight draws and 15 defeats) or Sweden (three wins, four draws and 14 defeats), with the last clashes coming in the group stage of the 2017 European Championship in the Netherlands. This competition saw the Germans and the Swedes progress to the quarter-finals, while Italy finished fourth in Group B and were eliminated. This included 2-1 defeats to both Russia and Germany, while they then beat Sweden 3-2 in their final game.
