Azzurre in retreat ahead of Moldova and Belgium matches. Vitale drops out,

The Women’s National Team have had double training today. They’ve been at the Mancini Park Hotel in Rome since Sunday evening to prepare for the next two World Cup qualifiers against Moldova (6th April, Vadul lui Voda) and Belgium (10th April – Ferrara). Seeing that Francesca Vitale is unavailable, Milena Bertolini has called up the Brescia midfielder Laura Fusetti who has joined up with the group.

Tomorrow afternoon, the side will travel to Moldova in search of a fifth straight win in Group 6. Italy are top of the group with a three-point lead over Belgium although they do have a game in hand. Elsewhere, Ferrara is preparing to become a Città Azzurra for the match against Belgium on Tuesday 10th April at the Stadio Paolo Mazza when the side returns.

Initiatives are being held in the build-up to the match with local schools in Ferrara taking part in a competition where the winner will be presented with a prize at half-time in the Belgium match. Meetings are also being organised by the Youth and Scholastic Sector at the FIGC with clubs, coaches from the area and officials from the AIA’s G.Turbiani Section. Events are also continuing in Ferrara to make 120 years since the foundation of the FIGC and with the Federation taking part in a large amount of social work. For the Belgium match, an event is being led by Prof Francesco Cognetti called ‘Together against cancer’ to inform fans about health and raise funds for the ‘Pallone della Salute’.

Entry for the Belgium match will be free and tickets can be collected from the ticket office by the Tribuna Sud at the Stadio Paolo Mazza between Saturday 7th and Monday 9th April. Opening hours are between 10:00 CEST and 13:00 CEST, then from 15:30 CEST for 18:30 CEST. It will also be open on Tuesday 10th April between 13:00 CEST and 19:00 CEST.
