Belgium will be Italy’s opponents in the semi-final of the Under-17 European Championship on Thursday (13:00 local time, 14:00 CEST) in Rotherham. The Red Devils recently beat reigning champions Spain 2-1 and will now have the chance to exact revenge after the Azzurrini beat them away from home last year; a result that consequently helped them triumph in the Elite Round.

Italy will be without captain Alessio Riccardi for the match against Belgium, who is suspended after reaching the limit for yellow cards. The Roma midfielder was duly granted a day of rest today and joined Head of Delegation Gianfranco Serioli and four teammates (Russo, Armini, Gyabuaa and
Vergani) in visiting Queens Hospital in Burton-on-Trent. The Azzurrini gifted shirts and caps to the young paediatric patients, also posing for photos and playing with some of the kids in the hospital courtyard.
