St George’s Park in Burton upon Trent will host the draw for the finals of the Under-17 European Championship today. The competition will be held between 4th and 20th May in England.
Italy are in pot two as one of the seven best runners-up for the finals after the Azzurrini finished second in Group 5 behind the Netherlands. The matches at the group stage will be played between 4th and 11th May with the top two sides progressing to the quarter-finals.
Hosts England will go into position one in Group A. The seven best group winners will be in pot one and they’ll be drawn out into position one or two in the four groups. The remaining sides (group winners and the runners-up) will be drawn from pot three into the third and fourth positions in the four groups.
Pot 1: Republic of Ireland, Netherlands, Serbia, Norway, Slovenia, Switzerland, Bosnia and Herzegovina;
Pot 2: Sweden, Germany, Portugal, Denmark, ITALY, Israel, Spain, Belgium.
