The Women’s National Team will be among the six top seeds in qualifying for the FIFA Women’s World Cup to be held in France 2019. Italy, who will be competing at the European Championship finals in July, will be involved in qualifying between 11th September 2017 and 4th September 2018. The seven group winners will qualify directly for the World Cup while the second-place sides will qualify for the playoffs (in a semi-final, then final format) which will be held in October and November 2018.

*The seven group winners will qualify directly for the competition in France with the host there automatically. The four teams in second with the best results against the teams in first, third and fourth will progress to the playoffs which will be two legs of knockout football played over two legs with the fixtures held in October and November 2018 to determined the final qualifier.
