After drawing 1-1 on Tuesday, the Under-16 National Team lost 1-0 to Hungary in the second friendly this morning at the Sport Center in Telki. The Azzurrini were on top in the first half but went into the break with the score goalless. Papp’s header in the 67th minute made the difference and Italy went very close to leveling twice. The crossbar and then the post denied Roberto Piccoli and Mattia Sandri from equalising.
“In these two matches, we played better than Hungary and we created more chances but football doesn’t always reward the better team,” said Daniele Zoratto. “Apart from the result, the boys still put in good performances as they created chances but were just lacking in finishing.”
