New FIGC project: The first football Hackathon

The FIGC has become the first international football federation to promote a football ‘Hackathon’. The idea was developed during the Kick Off project and it will be promoted by the Università di Trento and the Autonomous Province of Trento on 14th and 15th October. Kick Off, the FIGC’s think-tank, has developed this initiative and it will be a 24 to 48 marathon for virtuous computer hackers with the participation of various innovators, potential investors, experts, technology enthusiasts, software developers and applied researchers. The aim is to define business projects, develop technological prototypes or software regarding the themes of the event.

The FIGC intends to keep experimenting with new technology and business models which can be used in a new frontier for football with the aim of meeting strategic and digital goals.

Anybody with an interest in numbers, computers or football, Italian or foreign can participate from experts to students or ordinary fans. This hackathon is different in that is it open to all, like football itself.
