The Italy Beach Soccer National Team will be soon back in action after finishing in fourth place at the 2017 World Cup in the Bahamas. The Azzurri will hold a training camp in Terracina from 19th to 22nd June to prepare for the upcoming Euro Beach Soccer League, which is due to take place in Nazarè (Portugal) from 7th to 9th July. Italy will take on the hosts, France and Switzerland.
Head coach Massimo Agostini has called up 15 players, including eight new faces compared to the World Cup (Battini, Carpita, Del Duca, Borelli, De Masi, Palazzolo, Remedi, Savarese). Among the players who played at the World Cup, there’s Sambenedettese goalkeeper Simone Del Mestre, who won the Italian Cup yesterday with his club side. Del Mestre’s team prevailed 6-4 over Viareggio, a team featuring fellow Azzurri teammates Carpita, Ramacciotti, Marinai, Remedi and Gori, the latter ending up as the most recent World Cup’s top scorer with 17 goals.
