The newly-founded Juventus women’s team will be guided by Rita Guarino during next season’s Serie A championship. A genuine icon of women’s football, Guardino won five Scudetti during her decorated career, as well as six Coppa Italia titles and also two Supercoppa Italiana trophies. This is in addition to an incredible tally of 99 appearances for the Azzurre, scoring 35 goals in the process. Having been part of the coaching set up at Club Italia, Guarina took charge of the Women’s Under-17 National Team back in September 2015, leading the side in positive fashion up until today.
“I want to thank Rita Guarino for all that she has done for Italian football in recent years,” said FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio. “A road rich with satisfaction and she has become an influential figure for lots of women. I wish her the best of luck for this new adventure and I am convinced that the passion and professionalism that she has shown with the Federation will bring her further success in the future.”
