The Italy YouTube channel has gone silver! FIGC Vivo Azzurro’s social media has been awarded by YouTube with the Silver Play Button Award after reaching 100,000 subscriptions (currently 134,000). The FIGC’s video channel for the various national sides has seen over 16 million views in the past year and a 158 per cent increase compared the previous period. There have been over 320,000 likes, comments and shares made with ever increasing fan engagement.
With over 85 million minutes of content watched on FIGC Vivo Azzurro, the YouTube channel has also become popular for the original format of its videos. The ‘Quiz Azzurri’ sees players tested on knowledge of their teammates’ careers. Popular new additions are also the playlists dedicated to the Women’s teams and the fan match organised by the FIGC with fans of the opposing nation.
The prize awarded to the channel follows after Florenzi’s Neapolitan lesson with Insigne and Immobile during Euro 2016 was in the top ten non-musical videos of the year at YouTube Rewind 2016.
“This recognition represents yet another display of affection for the national team from the fans,” said the FIGC’s CEO Michele Uva. “It’s also gratifying with all of the work put in by the Federation on modern digital communication platforms.”
