The Under-17 National Team opened the Four Nations Tournament with a comfortable win against Israel (5-2). It was a convincing performance in Konstanz by the Azzurrini, who dominated the game after taking the lead in the 11th minute with a penalty from Inter striker Sebastiano Esposito.

Italy’s second came after 23 minutes through Milan player Lorenzo Colombo – a European Championship runner-up last year in the Under-17 shirt. The same player scored 8 minutes into the second half to make it 3-0, before Nunziata’s team added a further goal to their tally 3 minutes later through Roma defender Riccardo Calafiori.

Israel responded with two goals of their own as Korine and Nachmani scored after 62 minutes and 79 minutes respectively. But it was Italy who had the final say as Brugge Ksv striker Nicolò Cudrig scored the final goal of the match to make it 5-2.

Following on from the match against Israel, the Azzurrini will once again take to the field on Sunday 9 September (16:00 CEST) in Singen to face the Netherlands, while they will also play against hosts Germany in Waldshut-Tiengen two days later at 14:00 CEST in what will be their final match of the tournament.
