Gian Piero Ventura’s trips around the Serie A clubs are set to come to a close and he went to Pescara with his assistant coach Salvatore Sullo and secretary Mauro Vladovich. The coach arrived at 11:00 CEST at the Poggio degli Ulivi sports centre in Città S.Angelo to see the Biancazzurri train and he spoke with their coach Massimo Oddo who was a World Cup winner in 2006 and President Daniele Sebastiani. He visited the facilities used by both the senior and youth sides.
Accompanied by the Club President, Ventura visited the Convitto del Pescara where youth players from outside the region stay. “I’ve seen good facilities here,” said Ventura. “They’ll certainly help the young players to develop and they offer the right sense of peacefulness for the first team’s daily work with guest houses, training pitches and gyms. I wasn’t expecting all of this.”
After talking about how Pescara can still hope to survive in Serie A, Ventura went on to praise the clubs youth system. “I know the young Pescara players well, especially from the last training camp where there were three (Biraghi, Zampano and Caprari)’ he added. “They’re part of an important project which we’re looking to implement where young Italian talents are really valued.”
In coming weeks, the Italy coach will have visited every club after he goes to Crotone and Udinese.
